Happily in a long-term relationship ❤
I’ve been role-playing since 2002, having start on Battle {dot} net, where I met my boyfriend of about 14 months (3-4 years cumulative). I’ve done everything from IRC chat roleplaying, to forums, to messengers. And of course… I’ve done Theatre. One of my most recent Theatre roles was the Cowgirl Siren, one of the sluts seducing you on a black, plastic chair.
My role-playing resume has ranged from medieval to futuristic, from Zoids to Gundam, from Digimon to Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter to X-Men, and even further. I’m willing to give almost everything a shot, as long as you Lrn2english and aren’t controlling.
I started Only One In Color as a sort of exercise for my writing skills, and because Fear.Win convinced me to give him something to read at work. Writing from the perspective of a character such as Keiraline is actually a bit of a trial. Because I have made her so naive and so innocent, there as quite a few things that I can’t take advantage of. Not to mention… ditzy people drive me nuts, so what better way to test my writing skills then to write from the perspective of a ditz? Roleplaying in the Warcraft universe is also a challenge, as there are so many different people adding their elements, and so much lore to keep track of.
In some ways, I’m a bit of an OCD roleplayer. It drives me nuts when a character starts swearing, using words like ‘damn’ and ‘shit’ and especially, ‘fuck’, in IC roleplays, since words such as those weren’t exactly privy to the medieval Knights on a Shining Horse universe. However, I also tend to break the rules in my own ways, especially regarding my character Zhirej. Because of the relaxed nature of the Warcraft world, I built him around the ‘Becoming a well-known hero’ bit and made him involved with an NPC, as an on-field advisor of Thrall. Hell, he’s level 80, why not?
Adding level into the roleplay is another thing of mine. My character’s 80… yours is 15, and can’t cast that spell. I will call people out, and I will make an ass out of them. And just so they can’t call me a hippocrit… my lower level characters have only their wits and common sense to rely on when some 80 decides they need a pounding. In fact, my warlock has been cleaved in half by a level 80 that she pissed off. While I try to be aware that most people don’t bother with ‘level power’, I still add it in, just because… well come on. Seriously.
As of right now, I’m an admin on an X-Men roleplaying forum, where I work to keep a 3 paragraph minimum on posts, for my 15+ characters. I work at my local <Store Name> as a sales floor worker, specializing in Cosmetics, and dabbling in Electronics when we’re shorthanded. I’m working on a novel right now, called Preternatural, based on a character named Keiralina Denore, who, yes, Keiraline Sunwalker was somewhat based off of. (However, Keiralina is a bitch… and Keiraline is a ditz. Don’t you love character development?)
Now that my ramble is done… there you have it. The face behind the screen.
